Kannur: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the Kathiroor Manoj murder case Monday interrogated the doctor, who is treating CPI(M) district secretary P. Jayarajan, an accused in the case.
C.N Ashraf, cardiologist at the Sahakarana Hridayalaya attached to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital (PMCH), also handed over to the officials the medical documents of Jayarajan.
The CBI had earlier served him a notice seeking him to appear before the probe team. This move followed the Kannur Central Jail Superintendent’s decision to shift Jayarajan to the Pariyaram Medical College on the advice of the government physician and the doctor in the jail.
Jayarajan had surrendered before the district and sessions court at Thalassery on February 12 after his anticipatory bail application was rejected by the High Court.
