Kozhikode: President Pranab Mukherjee will dedicate the Gender Park, a first-of-its-kind platform in the country, to resolve the gender inequity in development, to the nation, at Kozhikode on February 27.
An autonomous institution, promoted by the state Department of Social Justice, the Park is envisaged to bring together, state, academia and civil society on a common platform on the issue of gender.
Key areas of focus of the Gender Park include training and research, culture, art, literature and media, social security and law, documentation and library, education, health and support, business and trade and productive sectors.
Mukherjee will open the Park at a function during his one-day visit, Gender Park officials here said.
State Social Justice Minister M K Muneer and Dr Rebeca Travers, Regional Representative Asia Pacific, UN Women will also take part in the function, they said.
