College student killed as tree falls on her in Guruvayoor

Thrissur: In a tragic incident, a student was killed and six others sustained injuries when a tree fell on them at the Guruvayoor Sri Krishna College campus in Thrissur on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Anusha, a first year BA Economics student at the college.
The condition of one of the injured is said to be serious.
The incident occurred when the Calicut University D-zone youth festival was on at the college campus and students from nearby colleges had gathered at the venue inside the college complex. The deceased and the injured were sitting under the tree when it got uprooted and fell on them.
The injured have been admitted to the Amala Medical College Hospital.
Few cars, parked nearby, were also damaged in the incident.
