HC refuses to stay Vigilance court verdict against K.Babu

Kochi: The Kerala High Court Monday refused to stay the Vigilance court verdict against former Excise Minister K.Babu in the bar bribery case.

The court, while considering the government’s plea, said there was nothing wrong in the Vigilance court’s proceedings in the case.

On Saturday, the Vigilance court had ordered the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to lodge an FIR against K.Babu in the bar bribery scam. Hours after the verdict, he resigned as the Excise Minister.
