Mumbai: One of the 17 Keralites, who have been missing from Kasargod district and are suspected to have joined Islamic State (IS), was held in Mumbai.

The national Intelligence Bureau detained Firos Khan, native of Bakirimukku, Thekke Trikaripur in Kasargod, from a hotel in Dongri here on Sunday night following an investigation based on his mobile phone location.

As per reports, Firos is being quizzed by the officials of IB and RAW.

He had phoned home some ten days ago and reportedly told them he was in Mumbai, although he, with the others, left home to go to the Islamic nation.

He said the others in the group left for Syria.

Meanwhile, the Kerala police have reportedly got information that some of the missing Keralites have reached Iran. The gang left for Iran from Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. It was reported that the group managed to clear travel documents from a travel agency in Kozhikode.
