Thiruvananthapuram: Former Agriculture Minister K.P. Mohanan has decided to return to journalism -- his profession till he joined the government.

"I am planning a new edition of my paper 'Padayani'. From now on you will see me more as a media person than a politician," Mohanan told IANS and showed his media pass to the state assembly.

Mohanan belongs to the Janata Dal-United, which now has no legislator in the house.

In the assembly elections, Mohanan lost to K.K. Shailaja, the present Health Minister, at Kuthuparambu in Kannur district. Kuthuparambu was represented by his father P.R. Kurup, who was also a minister.

Since his defeat, Mohanan, who used to occupy the front seat in the treasury benches, was on Tuesday seated among journalists in the media box.
