Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi VIjayan will launch 'SV.CO', the digital transformation of Startup Village and online incubator for student ventures, here Wednesday.

Billed as the second phase of Kochi-based Startup Village that was set up in 2012, the digital step-up of the telecom incubator will be launched at a function to be held at the College of Engineering here, an official release said.

The CM will also launch the 'StartInCollege' training campaign aimed at the 50 lakh students in 3,500 engineering colleges across the country.

The campaign offers a month's free training, which will help students take advantage of the services of SV.CO, it said.

The event will be attended by several dignitaries, including state finance minister T M Thomas Isaac, Infosys Co-Founder and Chief Mentor of Start-up Village Kris Gopalakrishnan, head of National S&T Entrepreneurship Development Board Dr H K Mittal.

The online digital incubator aims at leveraging the guidance and mentoring capabilities of the students, who would like to dabble in the fascinating world of start-ups across the country, it said.

Startup Village is a pioneer in incubation ecosystem in the country with its bold experiments and PPP structure. Currently, more than nine States have sent official delegations to the Start-up Village to study its model, the release added.
