Kochi: The Central Administrative Tribunal, Ernakulam Bench, has dismissed senior IPS officer T.P Senkumar’s plea challenging his removal from the post of state police chief.

Senkumar moved the CAT challenging the government's decision after senior IPS officer Loknath Behara took charge as state police chief.

Senkumar in his plea had contended that the decision of the government to transfer him from the post of the State Police Chief and post him as Chairman and Managing Director, Kerala Police Housing and Construction Corporation, on deputation was illegal.

Senkumar had alleged that the government removed him from the post by violating the Kerala Police Act.

Soon after the reshuffle, Senkumar in a Facebook post had indicated his discontent on his transfer, saying during the last 35 years he had always kept honesty, integrity and justice and a special care for the downtrodden.

"I still have all my vertebras intact. I have never appeased anybody for any posting. I have always tried to be impartial and fair", he had said.
