Thiruvananthapuram: A new department will be formed to focus on the welfare of women, said Finance Minister Dr Thomas Isaac.
“An amount of Rs 91 crore has been earmarked for it. Rs. 50 crore has been allotted for Kudumbashree,” the Finance Minister said in his budget speech.
The minister announced a project to construct toilets in public places.
“Women friendly toilets will be established in schools,” he said.
