Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to hand over the investigation into the death of actor Kalabhavan Mani to the CBI.

A decision in this regard was taken following the recommendation of DGP Loknath Behera.

Relatives of Kalabhavan Mani had recently met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and sought CBI probe into the death.

Mani’s younger brother Ramakrishnan had said they met the chief minister to press for a CBI investigation into the actor's death as they were not satisfied with the probe being carried out by the state police.

Mani had died under suspicious circumstances on March 6 this year at his farmhouse in Thrissur.
