T’puram/Palakkad: Eight persons, four each of two families, allegedly committed suicide in two separate incidents in Kerala, police said Monday.

Four women and three children including a one year-old infant were among those deceased.

According to police, husband, wife and two children of a family were found dead at their rented house in Thonnakkal nearby here this morning.

The deceased were identified as Sreekumar(38) his wife Shobha (34) their children Vaiga (6) and Vinayak (1).

Police said Sreekumar, who was said to be in a financial crisis, was found hanging in the room while the rest of the three were lying on the bed after consuming poison.

Preliminary evidences indicated that it was a case of suicide and further investigation is going on, police added.

Meanwhile, another family, comprising Balakrishnan (60), his wife Radhamani(53) and their twin daughters - Drishya and Darshana (20) were found hanging in the house at Mathur near Kuzhalmandam in Palakkad last night.

The bodies of the parents were found in one room and the daughters in another room, police said, adding cases have been registerd and investigation was on.
