Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has decided to nominate A.K Antony as the party candidate for the election to the Upper House.
“A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held at Indira Bhavan,” KPCC president V.M Sudheeran told reporters.
The panel members at the meeting have also decided to hand over the preliminary list of candidates to high command only after detailed deliberations.
“The party will not make moves hastily given the ample time for preparations. Now focus is on completing the preliminary talks on fixing candidates,” Sudheeran said.
Meanwhile, the Congress leadership, which completed first phase of talks with JD(U), will meet the Kerala Congress leaders at Kottayam on Saturday.
