Thiruvananthapuram: The draft list of Congress candidates for the assembly polls will be handed over to the High Command on Tuesday.

The decision was taken at the KPCC meet held here to prepare the list.

The final list will be announced after directions from the High Command.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, and KPCC chief V M Sudheeran attended the meeting along with other party leaders.

At the 2011 assembly polls, the Congress had contested in 82 seats and won 38. This time initial reports suggest they are likely to contest from 88 seats.

The assembly polls to elect the new 140-member Kerala assembly will be held on May 16.
