Thiruvananthapuram: Noted writer C Radhakrishnan has bagged this year’s Ezhuthachan award for his contributions to the Malayalam literary field.

The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, a citation and plaque.

Recipient of several honours, including the Literary Academy of India, Kerala Literary Academy, Radhakrishnan has proved his mettle in various capacities as novelist, short story writer, cine director, teacher and media personnel.

He was born in Chamravattom in Ponnani taluk in Malappuram district on February 15, 1939.
