BJP meet: Amit Shah in Kozhikode on Thursday, PM Modi to arrive on Saturday

Kozhikode: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kozhikode on September 24 to attend the BJP's three-day national council meeting that begins here on Friday.

BJP Chief Amit Shah will arrive on Thursday to give leadership to the meetings being organised to mark the centenary year of Deendayal Upadhyayay.

Upon Modi’s arrival in the city in the evening, the Prime Minister will address a public meeting being organised as part of the national council.

The Prime Minister will attend the BJP meetings on September 24 and 25. Modi will also inaugurate the birth centenary celebrations of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, former Jan Sangh president, at a special function on September 25 evening.

The Prime Minister will return to New Delhi after the function.

Around 1,700 leaders, including Union ministers, Chief Ministers of party-ruled states, MPs, MLAs, partys national leaders and top leaders of the party’s various state units will attend the meeting from September 23.

Kozhikode was chosen for the national council meeting as Deendayal Upadhayay was elected Jan Sangh president at the partys conclave in the city in December 1967.
