Kozhikode: Prof. U Mohammed, former Principal of Farook College, passed away at a private hospital on Thursday.
He began his teaching career at Farook College during 1966-83. He worked as the Principal of the college during 1983-88.
Prof. U Mohammed had also served as the president of the Muslim Service Society (MSS).
Born in 1933, Mohammed did his Master’s Degree in English from Bhagalpur University. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching, besides a post graduation diploma in English Studies from the CIEFL, Hyderabad.
He has written books and articles on subjects like education, reservation, minority questions and Sachar committee report.
