Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the Assembly on Friday that he did not attend the all-party meet held under the auspices of the Speaker as he was not invited.

Pinarayi was replying to the notice moved by V T Balaram for an adjournment motion.

On Thursday, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala had alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s absence at the meeting was a big rip-off by the government.

"To our surprise, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is also Leader of the House, did not take part in the talks held by the Speaker. We always felt that he would take part, but it did not happen. This is a big rip-off by the government," said Chennithala.
