Kochi: In an unexpected move, Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) state committee member Salim P. Chacko quit the party on Thursday.

Chacko, who is also the national General Secretary of the RYF, the youth wing of the party, said he was quitting in protest against the autocratic approach of senior leader N K Premachandran MP.

“He has been harassing me mentally for a long time,” Chacko said, adding he would also step down from all the posts in UTUC including its state committee membership.

“Premachandran is trying to make RSP a party like NKP. He knows what to do exactly to get his wishes done in the party. His style is of creating enmity among party leaders so that he can have his own way. I am resigning from the party as I can stand that autocratic behavior,” Chacko said.
