Muslim League not a communal party: P K Kunhalikutty

Thiruvananthapuram: Muslim League national general secretary P K Kunhalikutty on Friday said that the party was not communal and the remarks of some Left leaders branding the party communal were due to ignorance about the district of Malappuram.

“Muslim League is not a communal party. Some remarks of certain political leaders against Muslim League do not deserve any response. The League has bagged more votes even in Hindu-majority areas like Vallikunnu,” said Kunhalikutty, who won Malappuram Lok Sabha by-poll by over 1.7 lakh votes.

Asked about his resignation from the Assembly, the veteran leader said the matter would be discussed in the UDF meet on Friday before fixing a date.

“I am meeting the Speaker today (Friday) and will probably discuss the matter with him. I wish to meet all the members in the Assembly when the House meets on April 25 before submitting the resignation letter,” he said.
