Paravur: The Additional District Sessions Court Thursday acquitted Himaval Bhadrananda aka ‘Thokku Swami’ in a case in which he threatened to kill himself at a police station by firing gun shots upwards.

He was acquitted as the court felt that there was no evidence to prove the alleged crime. But, Swami didn’t appear in the court Tuesday as he was in remand in a case related to fostering communal hatred.

Swami, who threatened to kill himself by pointing gun at his head at his rented house at Asokapuram Manakkappadi on May 17, 2008, was taken to the Aluva Police station for a compromise talk.
