Thiruvananthapuram: Nalini Netto, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, has written a letter to DGP Loknath Behra stating that there were lapses on the part of police in its probe into the Puttingal fireworks accident.

Citing nine lapses on the part of the police, Netto, in her letter to the DGP, has sought a comprehensive probe into the incident.

The terrible mishap occurred when sparks from a firework fell on a storehouse stocked with crackers, triggering powerful explosions.

Police had registered a case of attempt to murder and other offences against six persons, including members of temple managing committee and associates of firework contractors in connection with the tragedy.
