Actress’ abduction: HC allows cops to question defence counsel
text_fieldsKochi: The High Court allowed the police Tuesday to interrogate the counsel of the prime accused involved in the abduction and molestation of a noted Malayalam film actress last month.
A division bench of the court asked the counsel for the key rape accused ‘Pulsar’ Suni to make himself available for the interrogation by the police on Thursday.
The court told the counsel that he was liable to depose before the police in response to the notice given to him as part of the probe into the case.
Following the service of the notice, the counsel had moved the court earlier alleging harassment by the police.
Suni had earlier confessed to the police that he had given his mobile phone and its memory card used for taking video of his criminal act to the lawyer.
Police subsequently had recovered the SIM cards, the memory card and the clothes allegedly worn by Suni during commission of the offence from the lawyer’s office.
The actress was allegedly sexually assaulted inside her car for two hours on February 17 night by a group of men, who had forced their way into the vehicle and later escaped in a busy area in Kochi.
