SC refuses to cancel Nehru College Chairman’s bail
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Supreme Court here today refused to cancel the anticipatory bail allowed to P. Krishnadas, Chairman of Pampadi Nehru College, who allegedly involved in death of Jishnu Pranoyi, who was a student at the college. The court pointed out that it could not be proved that Krishnadas has direct links with death of the student. Court was considering the plea filed by Kerala government and Jishnu’s mother, Mahija.
Court made it clear that action could be taken if there is established evidence against Krishnadas. Attorney General Mukul Rohtagi appeared for the state government. It is still to be certained whether Jishnu’s death was suicide or a murder. Allegedly Krishnadas is involved in the death. There is a chance of destroying evidence if bail is given, Rohtagi said.
But the court objected the arguments and observed that, there is no chance to cancel Krishnadas’s anticipatory bail plea as his role in Jishnu’s death is not proved so far. Advocate Raju Ramachandran appeared for Jishnu’s mother.
Kerala highcourt had allowed anticipatory bail for Krishnadas in the case registered on Jishnu’s death.
