Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan Wednesday assured the parents of Jishnu Pranoy, who had recently committed suicide, that the government has taken all necessary steps as per law in the case relating to his death.

The government would take all possible steps to bring the guilty to book, the Chief Minister said.

The parents of 18-year-old Jishnu, a first year engineering student, met Vijayan at his chamber this evening seeking his help for getting justice for their son.

Later talking to reporters, Mahija, Jishnu's mother said they had been assured all help by the government.

They alleged that the management of the Pambady Nehru Engineering college, where Jishnu was a first year BTech student, had allegedly destroyed evidences after the incident in January.
