Thiruvanthapuram: Kerala government is set to help students store their Secondary School Leaving Certificates( SSLC) on digilocker.

A suggestion regarding this came up during reissuance of the certificates lost to flood. Nodding in favour of the proposal by director of general education who is also the commissioner of examiniation, the government has issued an ordinance regarding this.

In the first phase, certificates of students who had appeared in the 2018 March examination would be stored in digilocker.

It was the first fully aadhar-linked SSLC examination in the state.

. Aside from getting printed certificates, students will have their certificates safely stored on digilocker.

Thousands of students lost their school certificates to floods in the state months ago.

Following this, the government had to reissue 34,550 certificates after they were found printed in poor quality ink, prompting the government to consider storing certificates on digilocker.

In the next year, certificates of 44, 1103 students who took exams last year would be stored in digilocker. Also, all students appearing for the exams next year will get this service.

Students can access and use their certificates stored in digilocker by using the user name, password, and digital signature allotted by Parisksha Bhavan.

The certificates can be submitted in digital form for further study as well as applying for jobs.
