Pathanamthitta: The three-member panel appointed by the High Court on Tuesday assessed the situation at Sabarimala.

The panel members including former High Court Judges P.R. Raman and S. Sirijagan and DGP, A Hemachandran held separate and closed-door meetings with police officers, heads of various departments and Devaswom Board authorities.

Alongside, the panel, reportedly, sought detailed report from police on the restrictions clamped on pilgrims. Reports say that the panel was of high opinion about the Kerala police’s service at Sabarimala all these years, despite certain allegations this time around.

Following their visit at Pampa and Nilakkal on Monday, the panel inspected Mallikappuram, Nadappanthal, Tirumuttom, Sewage treatment plant, police barracks, toilet blocks and government hospital, among others.

Talking to media, a panel member said it would submit a detailed report to the High Court at the earliest.
