Kochi: A team of French police officers has arrived here possibly to question an Indian prisoner who has been linked to the 2015 Paris terror attack that left 130 people dead, a Kerala intelligence official said on Wednesday.

The team will question Subahani Haja Moideen, 33, the official told IANS. "Moideen is understood to have been laterally involved with the accused in the Paris attack."

According to informed sources, the team arrived here late on Tuesday to meet Moideen in the Thrissur jail.

A series of coordinated terrorist attacks took place in Paris in 2015 leaving 130 people dead and over 400 injured.

According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Moideen is believed to have been trained in Syria along with Salah Abdeslam, one of the prime accused arrested for the Paris mayhem.

Moideen hails from Thodupuzha near here and was living in Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu when he was arrested by the NIA in 2016 for joining and supporting the Islamic State terror group.

He had reportedly undergone arms training with the IS and later went to Mosul in Iraq.
