Kannur Airport braces for inaugural day flights – international
text_fieldsKannur: Air India has submitted its service schedule to DGCA connecting Kannur international airport to Sharja, Riyad and Abu Dhabi, all set to start on the airport's inaugural day.
KIAL (Kannur International Airport Authority) authorities informed that as soon as DGCA clearance is obtained, the airlines would start bookings.
On the inauguration day (fixed as 9 December) the flights to Riyad will take off at 9.05 am, and to Abu Dhabi at 11 am. The flight to Sharja will depart at 7 pm.
As per the schedule prepared, the inbound aircraft from Abu Dhabi will arrive at 1.30 pm and the outbound will depart at 2.30 pm. As the first passsenger flight bound for Kannur airport, this will arrive back at 8 pm.
The flight from Sharja will leave Sharja at 7 pm and arrive in Kannur at 12.10 pm, as the second incoming passenger flight.
Daily flights are planned to and from Sharja and Dubai.
The flights to and from Abu Dhabi will ply on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. These services will start after the inauguration from 11 December.
Kannur Muscat services are slated to start from December 10, and will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Kannur-Muscat service will start at 9 a.m. and the return flight will depart from Muscat at 12.15 pm.
The service connecting Riyad will start on the inauguration and will continue regularly on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. It will leave Kannur at 9.05 am. The return flights from Riyad will be on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. It will depart from Kannur at 9.05 am and from Riyad at 12.35 pm.
Flights to Doha will start on 10 December, with a frequency of four every week, i.e. n Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. The schedules is 8.20 pm from Kannur and 11 pm from Doha.
