Thiruvanthapuram: Kerala government has deployed 15,259 police personnel at Sabarimala temple and the surrounding areas, alongside clamping prohibitory orders.
Top officials from DGP to ADGP will monitor the situation, bringing the hill shrine under heavy police cover.
55 officials in SP and ASP ranks will oversee security responsibilities. Other officials at work include 113 personnel in DySP ranks, 359 Inspectors, and 1450 Sub Inspectors.
Alongside, a 20-member commando outfit has been deployed at the Sannindhanam. One platoon of ‘Thunderbolt’ has been readied at Maniyar. Two companies of Rapid Action Force have been deployed around the temple premises.
