CPM harping on Sabarimala agenda of BJP; Sangh seeing issue getting out of hand

Thiruvananthapuram: Ruling Left Democratic Front's (LDF) leading party CPM, assesses that the Sangh Parivar's real motives in the Sabarimala have been uncovered through the speech of BJP's state president mentioning that it is a golden opportunity for BJP and that the party set an agenda and all rival parties were falling into that trap.

In CPM's appraisal, the Sangh suffered further dent in image by the violence it resorted to in the Sabarimala area, a place considered holy and meant for worship.

As for the Congress, which mostly fell flat by playing politics yet not getting anywhere through that beside the strident communal plank of the BJP, has had to take shelter under a new-fangled accusation of CPM-RSS nexus.

Within the BJP, there is said to be a whisper that the party's state president played into the hands of critics by disclosing that the Sabarimala tantri called him over phone. A section of the state BJP unit believe that the party lost its credibility through that.

The RSS too, which had all along been vociferous about following the tradition in the pilgrim area, lost its face when its activist leader himself violated it on Tuesday. What got disproved through that act was the BJP theory that the protesters in Sabarimala were all pure devotees.

The CPM points out that the events on Tuesday, i.e. RSS visibly leading the protests, vindicated its argument about who were behind creating confrontation in Sabarimala. CPM feels that the curtain covering the RSS agenda in Sabarimala stands removed now.

The Congress allegation that the police succumbed to RSS in the sannidhanam, is refuted by CPM. Instead it explains that with the police turning passive, it became a liability of RSS to peacefully bring back the violence-prone protesters, descending from hill top.

CPM feels that it was the uniform factual reporting by media about the attacks in sannidhanam that led to allegations about CPM fraction (feeding media stories). The party assumes that this will have the same fate as that of the false propaganda by RSS in social media.

In the meantime, KPCC, which had, in the name of faith, let a large chunk of its following join the protesters with the RSS camp, is now in an attempt to wriggle out of the knot. Its charge about CPM-RSS tie-up is just a manifestation of this.
