Not violated any custom in Sabarimala: K P Sankaradas
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: Travancore Devaswom Board member K. P. Sankaradas stated that he has not violated any custom prevailing in the Sabarimala temple.
He was responding to the allegations revolving around ascending the 18 holy steps without carrying ‘Irumudikkettu’.
‘I ascended the 18 steps as part of a ritual. The customs and rituals are different,’ Sankaradas clarified. He added that what Valsan Thillankeri did was violation of the custom. ‘Padipuja’ is only a ritual. I just accompanied those who went to light the ‘Aazhi’ (lamp). I went as a representative of the Devaswom Board after the concerned persons invited me. This takes place every year,’ he said.
K. P. Sankaradas also said that he could not become the president of Devaswom Board due to personal reasons.
