Police remain clueless about Asharam attack
text_fieldsThiruvanthapuram: Police have failed to make any headway in identifying the miscreants behind the attack on the ashram of Swami Sandeepananda Giri.
The ashram located in Kudamankadavu was attacked by unidentified men on Saturday. The miscreants set ablaze two cars and a scooter.
Police have recorded statements from people in the neibourhood, and decided to collect CCTV visuals from cameras within two and half kilometers limit.
Police would also probe whether any persons related to the asharm were behind the attack. Investigators would examine all phone calls and messages based on the tower location.
However, no inkling has been gleaned after examining the CCTV visual from the camera at the road leading to the ashram.
Police would take detailed statement of Swami Sandeepananda Giri on Monday in the presence of DCP Aditya.
The ashram security guard and his son were released from custody as they were found to have no connection with the incident. Police arranged security cover to the swami, deploying two gunmen.
