Sabarimala protest: Central ministers, and chief ministers to visit Sabarimala
text_fieldsPathanamthitta: More leaders including chief ministers and central ministers are likely to visit Sabarimala, taking their cue from Amit Shah’s upcoming visit to to the hill shrine.
This is part of BJP’s ploy to upset the state government’s resistance move against protests. No wonder then, even PM Modi himself might take out a visit to Sabarimala!
The plan is to send over to the hill shrine one prominent leader each day. Most of whom with Z category security will trek all the way up. This might overwhelm the police efforts to ensure security for women.
Thus, the security cover for women entry at Sabarimala might be breached. Alongside, efforts are on to turn the concluding meeting of Save Sabarimala Yatra being led by P.S Sreedharan Pillai and Thushar Vellappally into an expanded venue for Hindu meet.
Also, a sannyasi conference along the lines of Kumbhamela bringing in swamis from all over India will be held in Pampa.
Sabarimala pilgrimage season would become a meeting ground for Sangh Parivar outfits. The move is to turn Sabarimala women entry into a major national issue in the Ayodhya model. Plans are being hatched to wheedle devotees of Srinarayana Guru by offering hefty donation to Shivagiri. Putting Thushar Vellapally at the forefront of the Save Sabarimala march will be an answer to Vellapally Nadesan.
There are plans to field RSS and BJP volunteers at grassroots for a ritual protection pledge. In its efforts to counter CPI (M)’s family meet, BJP will hold family meetings.
