Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday asked the State government to make suggestions to ensure that hoarding and other advertisement boards, including flex boards, would not be installed unauthorisedly in public places again after their removal.

When the case relating to the removal of unauthorised hoardingcame up for hearing, Justice Devan Ramachandran orally observed he was glad that some of the local bodies had removed such boards from public places in response to the High Court directive.

He hoped that other local bodies would fall in line. But, the government had to come out with permanent measures to ensure that these boards did not come up again, the court said.

The court adjourned the hearing in the case to November 13.

Meanwhile, the amicus curiae appointed in the case submitted in his report that the political parties, respective of their colour, were flouting the directive of the High Court.

They were showing utter disrespect to the order of the court and setting bad precedent. The illegal hoardings would mushroom in the coming election year, the report pointed out.
