Vigilance Chargesheet against Tushar Vellappally
text_fieldsThrissur: Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau (VACB) will file chargesheet against Tushar Vellappally, President of BDJS (Bharat Dharma Jana Sena) and Vice President of SNDP Yogam (Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam) and TV Chandramohan, Congress leader and former chairman of Guruvayoor Devaswom Managing Committee.
The case is against the appointment of N Raju, who was a member of the managig committee, as assistant lineman in Guruvayoor Devaswom in violation of rules and regulations when he did not have the eligibility. The appointment was made to a newly created higher grade of Foreman, Grade 1, to which he was promoted.
The chargesheet also mentions the creation of the post of System Analyst and the appointment of K Ranjith to that position.
The Vigilance court considered the complaint by N Srejith from Kodungallur against both appointments, and ordered action against them. VACB states that both appointments were for non-existent posts. Vigilance has sought permission to prosecute the accused.
Tushar Vellappally was a member of the previous managing committee in which Chandramohan was chairman. In addition to the two, former commissioner of Devaswom VM Gopala Menon, former Administdrator K Muraleedharan, former managing committee N Raju, M Janardhanan, and K Shivashankaran are also respondents.
As per new rules, Devaswom executive members are treated as 'public servants' and so government clearance is required to prosecute them. As soon as the clearance is obtained, the charge sheet will be filed.
The report submitted after the quick verification was that there was no irregularity. However, the court which examined the report, found that there was prima facie irregularity, and so rejected the report. It also ordered to register FIR and conduct an enquiry.
Now the chargesheet is going to be filed in the case which was registered in July 2016.
One of the accused N Raju is under suspension in a case following complaints of attacking devotees, in which an enquiry was conducted under the Administrator.
