Thiruvananthapuram: The police on Wednesday said that a detailed investigation was required before submitting a report on the allegations against the UDF candidate of Kozhikode LS constituency MK Raghavan.

The process entails more time, DGP Loknath Behra said in a report submitted to Chief Election Commissioner Tikaram Meena.

Also, the process included the scientific evaluation of the channel footage, which could not be done within the election period.

The channel representatives, however, claimed that they have submitted the full footage of the sting operation to Election Commission.

Two different investigations— one on the complaint filed by MK Raghavan and the other against Raghavan based on a plaint by LDF, are on into the issue.

Meanwhile, Election Commission said that nothing could be done against the opposition campaigning against Raghavan using these allegations.
