Modi challenges Kerala’s secular fabric: Yechuri
text_fieldsThodupuzha: CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechuri on Wednesday said that Modi and his ilk were challenging even the secular fabric of Kerala.
Having nothing to claim on developmental front, they were stirring up communal passions for vote. But Kerala sends the message of unity, while BJP and RSS are trying to dismantle peace, he said.
BJP wouldn’t make any headway in Kerala, he said. BJP should be defeated to the hilt never allowing them to return to power.
Yechuri was addressing Idukki LDF candidate Joice George’s campaign meeting.
The Congress had declared that it wanted to keep off BJP from power. If so why Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad, he asked.
Taking on the Left would not send a good message. Rahul Gandhi proudly praises Kerala as a model state; however he has responsibility to reveal who was behind this achievement.
Praising Kerala model, Rahul in effect obliquely called for people to vote for LDF.
Attacking Modi, Yechuri said PM without waiving debts of farmers supports Ambanis and Adanis, clearing the debts of billionaires.
Modi turned CBI into a system that serves his interests. As well as keeping election commission in check, they threaten the Supreme Court, he said.
