Kochi: A case is registered against a man named Binil Somasundaram , who identified himself as a Hindu Rasthra Sevak on his Facebook profile, for posting abusive comments against the infant with congenital heart disease who had been rushed from Mangalore to Kochi the other day for treatment.

Ernamkulam Central Police filed a case against him under 153-A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony).

In his Facebook post, the accused called the infant “a seed of jihadis” and also added the state would bear all the medical expenses considering the religion of the infant.

Lawyer Sreejith Perumanna also filed a complaint with the state Police chief, seeking action against the man.

The accused removed the FB post following backlash on social media claiming that his account was hacked by someone..
