Kochi: Parents of the two Youth Congress workers, Kripesh and Sarath Lal murdered at Periye in Kasargode,  filed a petition in High Court demanding CBI investigation into the crime.  In the petition, the parents accused CPM workers of the political murder.

On the basis of a report submitted by District Police Chief of Kasargode, the case was transferred to a team lead by V K Muhammed Rafeeq, crime branch SP.  He was removed from the investigation after this probe was leading to clues about involvement of more CPM leaders.   The present investigation team has not initiated any investigation against former MLA Kunjiraman  and CPM district committee member V P Musthafa who were privy to information about  the murder, as was clear from their mention about the murder in a speech weeks before the act, the petition accused. In these circumstances,  a fair and free investigatons could not be expected from the current probe team.

A letter seeking CBI probe was submitted to Additional Secretary and DGP, but no action has been taken, the petition says.
