Kochi: Hospitalized veteran political leader and chairman of Kerala Congress(M) KM Mani is showing improvement in his health condition, the hospital sources said. His breathing is back to normal but dialysis will be continued as failure in functioning of kidney has been identified.
KM Mani was admitted to a private hospital in Kochi on Sunday due to chest infection.
He was put on ventilator last night as his condition deteriorated.
We are feeding him through the tube and his body is reacting positively to medicines. Mani is under observation on ICU and being treated by a team of doctors lead by Dr. Hari Laxman, said the hospital sources.
Mani has been under treatment for asthma for long period. He was complaining of chest infection when hospitalized. His blood pressure and pulse are normal without any medication.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan paid a visit to the hospital yesterday. Mani’s daughter and other close relatives are in the hospital.
