Thiruvananthapuram: As the witness examination of controversial Abhaya case started here, one more witness turned hostile on Tuesday.

Saju P Mathew, the fourth witness, who had earlier given to CBI the statement that he had seen the vehicle of the main accused parked outside the compound wall of the convent, turned hostile in CBI court.

Sister Abhaya was found dead at a convent in Kottayam in 1992. On Monday when the trial started, sister Anupama retracted her statement that she had seen headscarf and slippers of Sister Abhaya in the kitchen of the convent.

Sister Anupama also denied her own statement of having heard something falling into the well of the convent while studying at night.
