Kochi: Overturning the CBI court directive, Kerala High court on Thursday ruled that doctors who had carried out Narco tests on the accused in Abhaya case cannot be put as witnesses.
The CBI Court directive earlier said forensic doctors Krishna Veni and Praveen Prathappa could be examined as witnesses.
Justice Alexander Thomas stalled cross-examination of all eight persons involving in the Narco tests on the main suspects Fr Thomas Kottoor and Sister Sephy.
Sister Abhaya’s body was found in the well of St Pius Convent in Kottayam, on 27 March. 1992.
Where the Crime branch termed the case as suicide, a CBI concludes the death as homicide, and charged Fr Thomas Kottoor, Fr Poothrikkayil and Sr Sephy.
