Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday hit hard at the Centre’s handling of the protest over the passage of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, saying that they wouldn’t be cowed down by the threats or arrests.
NDA government’s suppression of protests is even more than the clamping during the emergency days, he said.
It would be foolish to think that protest could be quelled by arresting leaders and blocking roads.
Pinarayi also said that there is a blatant violation of the Constitution that gives people the right to protest.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader K Surendran hit out at film actors in Kerala who had criticized the amended Citizenship law. Surendran said that the film stars should act to the script in films only.
