Rahul Gandhi looks on as Safa translates his speech

"

Malappuram: A higher secondary school student from Karuvarakkund, a remote village in the district, has created ripples by spontaneously translating the speech of Rahul Gandhi on Thursday.

The Congress MP was at the Government Higher Secondary School to inaugurate a newly built Science Block in the institution.

As he started the speech, Rahul asked the audience if any of the students could translate it to Malayalam.

Though the students were little startled at the request, Safa cleared the air by accepting the 'challenge'.

The little translator was amazingly bold and cool that made the audience and thousands of viewers of the video of the speech, which was widely circulated in social media later, appreciative alike.

The accidental translator imbibed the tone of the speech as such and interpreted it in Malayalam instantly in a more vernacular narrative to invite rousing response from the audience.

Much impressed, the Congress leader, who had some 'unforgettable' experience from translators in the party not much past, praised the girl enormously and presented a chocolate.

Later Safa, the daughter of Kunjumoideen and Sara, told the mediapersons that she was elated to share the dais with Rahul, a leader she appreciates very much. Kunjumoideen is a teacher at a madrassa in the village.
