Kottayam: Sharing the dais with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan,  actor Mohanlal has made it clear once again that he would not enter politics.

" I know only acting;  I won't join politics.  I am in the field of acting for 40 years,  and have all these years have devoted myself only to acting" he said.  The occasion was the Aksharamuttam programme organized by Deshabhimani which was attended by both the chief minister and Mohanlal.

It was somewhat significant that Mohanlal shared the dais with CPM leaders when rumours were doing the rounds that BJP was in an attempt to make him their candidate in Thiruvananthapuram parliamentary constituency,  and this was his first public appearance after the discussions about candidates began.

But beyond making his stand clear,  Mohanlal did not touch upon any political issues.  He spent nearly an hour and a half at the programme with the chief minister.

Pinarayi Vijayan,  who inaugurated the function however  did severely criticize the central government,  the RSS and BJP.
