Thiruvananthapuram:  State and Central governments on Sunday wrangled over the inauguration of PM-KISAN scheme at State level.

The state government opened the scheme at an event in Kottayam. Meanwhile, Central minister Alphons Kannanthanam inaugurated the scheme at the Central Tuber Corps Research Institute (CTCRI), without any state government representatives in attendance.

Kerala’s agriculture minister V S Sunil Kumar said attempts to project government schemes as party projects were unfortunate. In case of the central government organizing a state-level inauguration, Kerala government should have been intimated, he said.

Kannanthanam responded to the Kerala Minister saying that the function was organized only to watch the national launch of the programme by PM.
