Karunagappally: As the protest against mining black soil at Alappad turned 70 days, Congress leaders including Ramesh Chennithala might visit the venue part of intensifying the stir.

Congress may well take up the protest if KC Venugopal’s plan to visit the venue on Sunday were any indication.

KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala might visit the venue on Monday, all the more indicative of the party’s decision to take up the protest.

Meanwhile, protesters continue to voice their concerns about losing their habitation to mining, garnering support on social media.
