Kottayam:  Police intelligence is learns to have given a report warning that law and order machinery should be put on high alert,  pointing out that the goal of the sangh parivar organizations is to cause riots in the name of Sabarimala.

While the earlier report had contained a blame that the police did not take effective action,   the new report strongly recommends that the situation has to be viewed seriously.  There should be boosted security to protect the life and property of people,  and that there may be planned attacks against party offices and homes and establishments of leaders as also government offices.  The report also hints at the threats against ministers and their vehicles.

The protests held by RSS, BJP and sangh parivar outfits in the name of two women entering Sabarimala are part of an attempt to cause unrest all over the state.   Intelligence has also warned that in the absence of timely action, things may go out of hand.  There is also the likelihood of BJP's national leadership lending open support to the protests and the violence.

The strikes and violence may not be called off within a day or two.  Clashes are created under a clear script which may also include attacks against institutions.   The situation may worsen after the funeral of Chandran Unnithan who died in Pandalam (who was among the protesters and died following armed attacks on him during clashes with political opponents) .

The report also mentions the plan of the striking outfits to keep the protests alive until 20 January, the day the Sabarimala temple gate is scheduled to be closed.
