Weighing scale at ration shops to be linked with E-PoS

Thiruvananthapuram:  All outlets of ration shops in the state will have weighing scales linked to E-PoS (point of sale)machines in four months as part of making ration shops more transparent, said food and civil supplies minister P Thilothaman.

Talking in Assembly, the minister said renovation of offices and digitization of public distribution system have rendered stock movements and transactions more transparent.  

The Union Ministry has rated Kerala the best in implementing NFSA (National Food Safety Act), although the state is the last to implement it, he said.
