Kottayam: Signaling no dilly-dallying, NSS leadership decided to stiffen its continuing standoff with LDF in the LS polls, while claiming equidistance as its stance.

Part of this move, NSS disbanded its Mavelikara Taluk union after it had given reception to LDF candidate Chittayam Gopakumar without the knowledge of the leadership the other day.

In an on-message move, the leadership wanted subordinate units to abide by diktat of the leadership, and those failing to conform would be shown the door, say NSS sources.

The wrath towards the government in Sabarimala row   has not yet been settled in NSS.

The leadership has orally directed its unit heads to take anti-LDF stand in the polls.  It is learnt that NSS has decided to support UDF and BJP at places.

NSS leadership is disappointed at the stance of  Pathanabhapuram union, headed by Balakrishna Pillai.

While supporting BJP, NSS is silent over BJDS candidates.
